First Evangelical Lutheran Church Automatic Giving Program

The Automatic Giving (maintained by Center National Bank) is a safe, reliable way to move your stewardship plan into action! It is a program designed to help you continently and consistently contribute to the church.

Your gifts are made through a pre-authorized withdrawal from any bank account. The frequency of the automatic gift would be monthly or quarterly on the 20th of each month.

Your contribution is deposited into First Lutheran’s checking account on the same day it is withdrawn from your account.

You will need to complete a short enrollment form, available below or in the church office. Place the completed form into the Finance/Stewardship mail slot, located in the church office.

Once enrolled, and you feel the need to increase/decrease your giving. Or if your bank information changes,  fill out a new enrollment form, found in the church office or available below.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Jean Hoyer, Financial Secretary or Sacia Matheson, Treasurer/book keeper.

Giving

Here at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, our offerings are given as a response to God’s daily generosity to us. Most these offerings are used for the General Fund, which supports the ongoing work of the congregation, budgeted expenses, synod and various missions.

Giving at FELC helps support the following missions/ministries:

  • Green Lake Bible Camp
  • Southwestern Minnesota Synod, ELCA
  • Lutheran Social Services
  • Philip and Lou Knutson (missionaries in South Africa)
  • World Hunger Appeal
  • World Vision
  • Heifer Project
  • Roblealto Child Care Association in Costa Rica
  • South Africa Conference
  • Hurricane Katrina Relief
  • Haiti Earthquake Relief
  • Feeding the Children International
  • Lutheran World Relief
  • Operation Bootstrap Africa
  • Global Health Ministries
  • Operation Christmas Child
  • Miscellaneous Outreach to the community

In Malachi 3:10, it is mentioned that God’s people should tithe. “Bring the full tithe in the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing”. Tithing is giving 10% of one’s income. The Stewardship and Finance Team is recommending that every member of FELC begin to tithe or continue to tithe and thank you if you are already doing so.

In the fall of every year, members are offered the opportunity to pledge support for the upcoming year’s work at FELC.

Volunteerism within FELC is another way of giving. It will not only enrich your own life but, also help greatly in the churches ministry.
